It has long been the battle of the Australian motorsport, and Ford versus Holden at Bathurst is one of the great sporting events in Australia. The TV ratings for much of the race place it among the elite sports in the country…

It is the heart and soul of Australian motorsport… it is a place where legends are made and dreams are shattered.

Mark Skaife, Greg Murphy, Russell Ingall and Craig Lowndes are household names on the back of their Bathurst wins, while Glenn Seton is almost their equal thanks to the agonising heartache of his near wins.

1k.07 by Publishing 101, will delve into the emotion that makes the 2007 event tick, it will look at who and why… and perhaps more importantly who didn’t. Our acclaimed team of photographers and journalists will give you the story in vibrant colour with leading edge design.

Publishing 101 set itself the goal of capturing the raw emotion of Bathurst with the 1k series, as a first step 1k.06 was superb. 1k.07 will also further contain further enhancements as the team is able to grow the product on the back of last year’s success.

One of 1k’s unique features is the 1k Bathurst Hero, a 32 page section devoted to the people who made the race what it is, the drivers who challenged the Mountain and came away with our hearts.

In 1k.06, Publishing 101 celebrated the life of Peter Brock as we all mourned his loss – and just as that choice of first Hero was easy and obvious, so too is our second hero, Allan Moffat.

As Ford’s lead driver in the 1970s, Moffat won the race four times, building the Falcon GTHO legend early in the decade before the famous 1-2 finish in 1977 – 30 years ago to this year’s race. 1k.07 will spend time trying to understand Moffat the man, while lauding his life as a driver.
